Weekly Photo Challenge: Dinnertime

It’s time for dinner.
To eat something is a very basic and instinctive action but, when we talk about “dinner”, we don’t focus on this common routine probably because we expect something different from a daily life in the word.
The boat having red lanterns is a restaurant called “Yakata-bune (屋形船)”, literally a roofed pleasure boat in Japanese, where you could have a small party with tempura and so on. Obviously it is not low-priced but it’s worth a try.
BTW, I added two other photos taken in France. It’s similar view, isn’t it?

Monochrome Monday: Future

201604-221From lipsticks to locomotives, Raymond Loewy might be one of the origins of retro-future design. Of course, he must not have agreed with me if he could read this post. However, I think, his design has been and will be somehow contemporary.

口紅から蒸気機関車まで、レイモンド・ローウィレトロフューチャの原点の一人だろう。もちろん、このポストを読んだら違うと言ったに違いない。だが、思うのである。そのデザインは、これまでもこれからも、どこか現代的であると。

Weekly Photo Challenge: Future

201604-201April is the beginning month of the financial and school year in Japan. Though a lot of companies have switched the year period from April-March to common January-December, graduates start their new job this month with plenty of dreams looking for the future. So April of Japan is, that is to say, the month of hope and anxiety.
The picture on top was taken at Minato-mirai area of Yokohama, literally meaning a port of future.
