A Part of Wordless Wednesday
and
my second contribution to WPC:Narrow.
capturing in prose

“How wonderful our high-ceilinged room is.”
“Definitely! (Don’t tell a lie. I have much preferred small and narrow places since I was a kid.)”
“How wonderful!”
“Yes! (I’ve told my wife a lie again)”
This is a dialogue of TV Ads about house builder in Japan. To my way of thinking, we love to be more or less in narrow space even if we are longing the wide world.

If you are mechanically inclined, your cherry on top could be metallic things or shapes having industrial design. When I was young at school, my favorite was sleek and streamline-shaped design like a product by Luigi Colani. His design gave me a somehow organic impression also.
Now I’m interested in classical shape rather than future one probably because, I suppose, there is beauty of sophisticated process and form in classical designs. For instance, A wheel cover of VW should be chromium plated, an airplane should have propellers and be painted with blue and white, a big ship should have huge funnel etc. Today we know hard chrome plating is not required anymore. Some thinner pipes are installed in the funnel. However, also we know, these designs are needed as a cherry on top.
古いフォルクスワーゲンのクロームキャップも、青や白で塗り分けられたプロペラ機の機体も、大型船の巨大な煙突も、様式としての美しさという点では欠くことのできないものだろう。ケーキの上のさくらんぼのように。

Looking into the detail of rain.
Catching the light of the sky in vain.
Last one month, it has been rainy in Yokohama. Fine weather continues only one or two days and dark clouds come again. Sometimes I have found myself being reluctant to go out with my camera. When I saw this week’s challenge, I came up with focusing on rain drops or something like that.

このひと月、横浜は雨模様。晴天は二日しか続かず、雲がふたたびやってくる。気付けばカメラを持って出かけるも億劫という始末。今週のWPCは、そんなことから雨粒にフォーカス。
