東京近郊ではもはや5月に一番ポピュラーな雑草となったナガミヒナゲシは、60年代に入ってきた外来種であるらしい。その小さなオレンジの花弁は、道端にあってあまりに儚く美しい。外来種とどう向き合うかはいつも難しい。
The long-headed poppy is a popular wild flower in May around Tokyo but it’s not a native to Japan. Its tiny orange petals are fleetingly beautiful along the roadside. It is a difficult question how we face foreign species.

The Yokohama Parade – open-a-port anniversary – organized by the committee, the city of Yokohama and Kanagawa pref, is one of the highlights of May in Yokohama. The early summer comes after the event. Pictures were taken on Wednesday, 3 May 2017.
