Weekly Photo Challenge: Inspiration

201508-102

When I took a stroll in Yokohama last week, the Nippon-maru, an old training ship, was in full sail. Usually, she was not dressed and around one hundred volunteer unfurl the sails one day of every two or three months. It is impressive and inspirational because the ship is under the skyscrapers.

Yokohama is the city of marine and diplomatic history. The next inspirational photo was taken at the remains of  French consular office.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Close Up

201507-401

As some of my readers know, I’m not good at taking a macro photo and don’t do it so much usually. However, it still bounds to take a photographer to the macro photo as WPC does.

The flower season of a hibiscus is summer in Yokohama and commonly known as FUYOU (芙蓉) or MUKUGE (木槿).

Weekly Photo Challenge: Half and Half

201507-301

You could say July in Japan is half the sunshine summer and half the rainy month. When it is fine, the sun light is strong and hot. When it rain, the air is frowsty. In any case, it must be very humid. In between the sun and the rain, for the rare occasion, dry wind blows over the city. The above picture was taken under such blue sky with strong light.

The second picture, bottom, was not taken in Japan but similar composition. Probably I like this kind of pictures.
