The Indian Fritillary is not an autumn butterfly but it looks good at autumn. In Japanese, it is called “Hyou-mon”, pardine、as you see.
タテハ類は秋の蝶ではないが、秋にはぴったりである。この蝶は（おそらく）ツマグロヒョウモン（褄黒豹紋）であり、実は秋というより豹柄という意味である。

The picture was taken at a museum of potteries, perhaps earthenware would be a better expression, where a famous potter lived in this house fifty years ago. His name was Shoji Hamada.
