Weekly Photo Challenge: Repurpose

201701-501

Honestly saying, I don’t know what this strange object is. When I was strolling in a small forest park as usual, I found it accidentally. It might be a kind of scarecrow frightening birds away but it was just in front of a bamboo trees – no reason to do – and the red lucky charm was for studies. I hope you could enjoy beautiful winter bamboo trees rather than the object.

これが一体何なのか、どうにも合点がいかない。

Weekly Photo Challenge: Graceful

201701-401

In some cases, a graceful way of moving means a kind of lifestyles such as a gentle carriage for some other people. A few years ago, a public advertising about a traditional culture of Japan came up in the new. It said, for example, how should we do when you pass by one another with umbrellas. If everyone inclines an umbrella slightly, the world could go better.

I have picked up two pictures of Hikawa-maru, an old ocean liner, again because it looks graceful and I believe that passengers would have a graceful carriage.

優雅さとはある種ライフスタイルのようなものである。かつて江戸しぐさが話題になった時のように、視覚的なだけのものではない何かを人は求めている。

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ambience

201701-301

Usually I posted nature photos taken in my livelihood area and one of my favorite places is a kind of forest park where I always find something makes me relax. Even just the sunlight down to undergrowth with morning dew could be a part of the world as a picture at bottom.

However, I’ve chosen a completely different way for the challenge. As you see on top, the city of Yokohama where I live has always been a leader of an era then there are a lot of cultural heritages around the bay which give a sedate atmosphere. I love the ambience.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Names

The Hotel New Grand in Yokohama, Japan.
The Hotel New Grand in Yokohama, Japan.

The Hotel New Grand is one of the most famous hotels in the city of Yokohama. It is also known as a historic place of Yokohama bay. I have never stayed in it, because I live in Yokohama, but it is on my list to visit. The hotel was names as ‘Grand Hotel’ until it had been burnt down by a big quake around 90 years ago.

Most of well-known cities has a historic hotel and visiting them is always my pleasure. Of course, it’s a bit expensive for me to stay in then usually I’ve just looked around, though.
