Photo Panoramique: The Parade

201705-201

The Yokohama Parade – open-a-port anniversary – organized by the committee, the city of Yokohama and Kanagawa pref, is one of the highlights of May in Yokohama. The early summer comes after the event. Pictures were taken on Wednesday, 3 May 2017.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Danger!

201705-141

I usually submit a post for the Photo Challenge on Friday night in Japan but this week is an exception. It’s a national holiday today and I have my time to stroll out with a camera. A question is what should I take for Danger! Indeed, our life is quite safe except some political issues.

Pictures here were taken at a construction site suspended during holidays. Honestly saying, one of the most dangerous things would have been my taking pictures.

Le Guin

201705-111

If you see a whole thing – it seems that it’s always beautiful. Planets, lives… But up close a world’s all dirt and rocks. And day to day, life’s a hard job, you get tired, you lose the pattern.

– Ursula K. Le Guin

Honestly saying, I don’t know the context of these words. I read few her novels in Japanese translation and found the quote on a web site. It sounds a bit pessimistic but probably she wouldn’t mention our aigre lives because we always know that’s why the world is beautiful.
