今日は不在にしています。
全てが順調で心配事などないけれど、でもやることがたくさんある。
それが人生というもの。
Je ne suis pas là aujourd’hui.
Tout va bien, il n’y a pas de quoi s’inquiéter, mais il y a beaucoup à faire.
C’est la vie.
いよいよ冬の寒さがやってきて、まだ残っている秋の花も、日差しがないと寒々しく見えてくる。ただ、人間とってありがたいのは、花がなかなか枯れにくいこと。人の身勝手でしかないのかもしれないが、ありがたいことに花は絶えない。
そういえば、秋の剪定が遅れた我が家の鉢植えのヘリオトロープは、その後も夏のような気温が続いたからなのか、今頃になってまた花を咲かせている。きっとまもなく季節外れの甘い香りが広がることだろう。吐く息の白い冬枯れの朝も悪くないが、いつまでも華やかであるならばそれはそれで嬉しいものだ。

I was walking through a public garden with a small wooded area with a path when I heard a knock overhead. The sound was made by a red-bellied woodpecker.
Walking while looking at the trees is also fun. The photo below was taken a few years ago in Brittany, where I used to live. There was a European red squirrel looking down at me in the woods right next to my house.
One day, as I was walking along the forest road as usual, I came to a well-maintained garden area and couldn’t help but look down at it. And I found it. The scenery between the branches looked a little strange. I was confused. Everything has been turned upside down. It was a moment. After a few seconds I was back to normal.

木々を見上げながら歩くのは楽しみの一つだ。 下の写真は数年前住んでいたブルターニュで撮ったものだ。 家のすぐ近くの森でヨーロッパ・アカリスが私を見下ろしていた。
