Weekly Photo Challenge: Fray

201408-070These books are old paperbacks in Japan. A big publishing company added a tassel – bookmark, which is called spin(e) in Japan – to their paperbacks and I liked it. Probably, near future, a question would be raised; what it this ribbon fraying. For today many people use a tablet to read books. Even in a digital equipment, of course, you can easily go wild.

201408-072Sometimes, though it might be frayed by artificial means.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

201408-040One of the header images of the site “tagnoue” is a silhouette of Mont Saint-Michel in France.

At first, this image was another candidate but I thought it was a little bit difficult to crop it in proper aspect ratio. The image was a silhouette of Nice Airport viewing from Promenade des Anglais, a famous beach there.

Where the picture was taken is in Yokohama. A silhouette makes an ordinary view beautiful.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Texture

201408-030wIn winter, the field was covered by small purple flowers instead of white snow.
201408-030spIn spring, it came to be green here and there. Cherry blossoms, falling down by strong rain, were spices of warmer days.

201408-030suIn summer, shadow teaches strong light
and leaves are going to be yellow in soon coming autumn.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Zigzag

201408-014I was wondering if I should go out to take a picture of a shrine because it’s a season of summer festival and I came up with a Zigzag object in the shrine,
201408-015 but a thermometer tells 33 degree, 91 in Fahrenheit, in Yokohama 201408-011 then I took some pictures in a room 201408-012 and, finally, I found there were many zigzag objects around me. 201408-013
