Weekly Photo Challenge: Life Imitates Art

imitating “The Hunters in the Snow” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder

When I was young at school, I went to the backyard of the school building  with some kids mostly everyday not for playing but skating. Indeed, the school had a tiny ice rink and I was a volunteer of maintaining it. The place I spent my childhood is sunny in winter but the temperature is enough low to make a flat ice. My job was to sweep up the surface of the ice and then my teacher sprinkled the rink with water. Of course, volunteers had the privilege of skating freely in short time.
The picture on top was taken in the bay area of Yokohama. The place named “Art rink” appears every winter at a shopping mall and a lot of kids find the pleasure of skating. The place itself is like an art and the scenery is like a movie.

By the way, I still don’t feel a sense of reality in the words of Oscar Wild probably because the life impressed me as being dynamic and plentiful but the story is simple, as Willa Cather saying

There are only two or three human stories and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before.
