I was out of breath as I climbed the hill on the back streets of a residential area, breathing in the unseasonably humid, warm air and choking. I was suddenly reminded that autumn has deepened.

住宅街の裏通りの坂を息を切らせながら登り、季節外れの湿った暖かな空気を吸い込んで咽せる。秋が深まった事を急に思い出す。

Tokyo warming in summer

It was two years ago since I have returned back to Japan. I learned that the climate of Japan is not also an exception from the global warming. I have been aware of high temperature of Tokyo even I was far from Japan but it was just knowledge. Perhaps you have already knew that the temperature of Toyko is terribully high in summer reaching more than 35 degrees (close to 100F) like tropic city and it goes down to 0 degree (32F) in winter. However those figures were maximun and minimum numbers. This year, in 2024, the summer was very long. In fact, there were more than 15 days when the temperature exceeded 35 degrees, and 150 days when it exceeded 25 degrees. In other words, there were five months when the temperature exceeded 25 degrees, like a summer. It is obviously crazy environmental issue and soon, within 2 months, the winter comes rapidly. If you are planning to visit Japan, I recommend you consider spring or fall season.

Floral Friday #192

　ようやく秋の柔らかくもキラキラとした日差しが戻ってきた。時々初夏のような暑さにはなるものの、茶色になっていた苔も緑を取り戻し、植物にも新しい芽が延びてきた。金木犀がだいぶ遅れていたりはするが、柿の木も朱の混じったような黄色の実がたわわに実って、オレンジ色の秋がやってきたらしい。この黄色と緑とオレンジと茶色の季節が進むと、いよいよクリスマスムードも少しずつ出てきて、寒さも進むだろう。

　こんなに寒さが待ち遠しい秋も経験がない。寒くなればなったで暖かさが恋しくなるのだが、今年は夏が長過ぎた。東京の夏日は150日というから、5ヶ月ということになる。やれやれ。

　Wordpressのブロックエディタが日本語で使えるように戻ったのがありがたい。最近は日本語の記事がメインなので、こちらもようやく普通に戻ったということか。しばらく安定してくれると良いのだが。
