Lens-Artists Challenge #301: Floral

The waters of the bay beyond the town were still and calm. Hydrangeas there had begun blooming without notice. I strolled through the back garden of an old temple. The Kannon statue with its floral carvings was beautiful, but I preferred to look at nature instead.
Colors were somehow missing. Though fresh greens and faint pinks showed its contrast, that was not a key of scenery. Its soft and gentle shape rather made a good contrast against humid wind from the sea.

Lens-Artists Challenge #301: Floral

As I walked into town, I saw silky bindweed in bloom, but no one paid it any attention. The place where the flowers bloomed was just there, with no care given to it.

Sometimes colors seems not so important aspect of floral thing.

Lens-Artists Challenge #300: Delicate

Hydrangea starts blooming this week and in Kamakura, an ancient capital in 13th century, soon a lot of people are enjoying its delicate colors. It is of origin Japan and most of breeds are improved in Europe for gardening. As you may know, there are more than hundreds of temles and fifty shrins, and a most of them are lised on some guide books. Kohtokuin is probaly most well known one for great budah.
However, out of Kamakura area, still a lot of nameless shrins and temples. Perhaps you may not find any delicate garnishs. Instead, you may see a sort of naive one.

Hydrangea improved in Europe is as below. Colors are more cheerful and bright.

Lens-Artists Challenge #298: To Be Young Again

I have completely forgotten how to spend a May break, so-called ‘Golden Week’ of Japan, when everyone takes a short vacation. Traditionally, May the fifth is the day for children and large streamers in the shape of carp are displayed. Such scenes are far from my memories, and now I only notice them when we go shopping. This photo shows a lot of streamers, but I ceded the place to the children and did not go near them. When I look at the big tree, the big streamers, and the little children, I wonder if it’s okay to play innocently again.

The picture at bottom was taken last year, of course with being young at heart.

Lens-Artists Challenge #296: Abstracts

I’ve been waiting for years for someone to challenge me on abstract photography. I really like those types of photos. I can’t say I’m good at abstract photography, but I don’t care. I like that. That’s enough.
The first photo is not a new one. You may have spotted something in the photo. Right, it was taken at an amusement park.

Lens-Artists Challenge #296: Abstracts

I didn’t do any special technics for the second one. All I needed to do was to turn off auto-focus.

I thought it would be interesting to apply different color mapping, such as negative/positive processing. It may give some kind of thunder-like image.
As part of “Mostly Monochrome Monday,” I plan to use the following photos again.

Lens-Artists Challenge #293: Water in Motion

Oops, I have just deleted completely some pictures about water and what’s more I have no opportunity to take pictures this week. In such case usually I decide to not participate in a challenge but I may be abscent also next week. After, wondering this and that, eventually, here’s mine.
Under dark sky, just next to dark water, hearing low sound of wind, and thinking about far place, I was looking at a motion of water. It was not a cheerful moment but definitely beautiful. The rhythm of water was simple and it drew a white line to separate my place from the sea.

Perhaps, it would be better to add a cheerful moment at the end of this post. It was take at Tokyo Disney Resort.
