Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument

201404-022The monument was built for a memory of the Nagano Olympic Games 1998. Interestingly this statue, which seems to be a ski jumper, is put in front of the skating rink. Something strange happened in 16 years? Addition to this, someone would left his bamboo broom there as you see. Nobody’s interested in a past Olympic Games? Probably it is because many of facilities for the games are still used commonly.

You can see the monument of ski jump as a real one.

Weekly Photo Challenge: One

Happo OneIt’s not a kind of jokes but the name of the place where some contests of Nagano Olympic Games of alpine skiing like downhill and jump were held was Happo-one. ONE means “ridge” in Japanese and pronounced as O+Ne. Happo-one is one of my most favorite ski area and one of the most famous destination for skiing from asian countries as well as domestic visitors.

The XVIII Olympic Winter Games, Nagano, was taken place in February 1998 and then mostly 16 years past. The next winter Olympic Games, Sochi, Russia, is going to be celebrated soon in February 2014. I’m looking forward to watching it on TV or Web and you must be.
