The waters of the bay beyond the town were still and calm. Hydrangeas there had begun blooming without notice. I strolled through the back garden of an old temple. The Kannon statue with its floral carvings was beautiful, but I preferred to look at nature instead.
Colors were somehow missing. Though fresh greens and faint pinks showed its contrast, that was not a key of scenery. Its soft and gentle shape rather made a good contrast against humid wind from the sea.
Lens-Artists Challenge #301: Floral
As I walked into town, I saw silky bindweed in bloom, but no one paid it any attention. The place where the flowers bloomed was just there, with no care given to it.

Sometimes colors seems not so important aspect of floral thing.

Beautify written to make your point, tagnoue. sometimes it is the detail we should be paying closer attention to. The monochrome was a great way to showcase the detail to us.
*beautifully written.
While walking through the ancient city, I was thinking about how to express the beauty of these modest flowers. This was a good opportunity to take on a new challenge.
Fantastic monochrome gallery. You showed us the beauty of textures, light, and shapes. Excellent work!
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a bit of a challenge for me, so I feel a bit relieved to hear your words.
Timeless beauty, I love the calm, soft feel about it.
I love soft feel, too. It gives sort of ease missing in a metropolitan life.
Isn’t it crazy how people really can walk by without noticing? Beautiful images, the B&W really shows off the shape and form
A lot of well known places in Kamakura and everybody looks busy for looking for touristic things.
Beautiful. Flowers please we humans like nothing else, I think.
I agree with you. I was not aware of such power when I was young.
You’ve demonstrated beautifully that black-and-white is a proper medium for floral images. Beautiful work!
Thank you for the message. It was a bit tricky way for me to express floral things with b&w.
